eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result f014 CINEMASCOPE Dynamo movie magazine '54 lots of Marilyn! Date Sold 12/20/2007Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Dynamo Magazine (measures 11" x 17"; 56 pages) (Learn More) Cinemascope, the 1954 special issue of "The Dynamo". THE ENTIRE ISSUE OF THIS MAGAZINE IS DEVOTED TO CINEMASCOPE (primarily from 20th Century Fox), which is described as the "Most forward step in the 59 years' history of motion pictures", and "What the greatest entertainment miracle of the ages has wrought". This magazine is PACKED with everything you could possibly want to know about CinemaScope along with many articles about all the movies filmed in CinemaScope to that time, along with ones in production, and there are many rare photos that have likely not appeared anywhere else!. Marilyn Monroe appears on many of the pages, in her 20th Century Fox movies, and in one funny photo where she is wearing a bathing suit and holding a CinemaScope lens! There are profusely illustrated articles on "The Robe", "How to Marry A Millionaire", "Beneath the 12-Mile Reef", "King of the Khyber Rifles", "Hell and High Water", "River of No Return", "Prince Valiant", "Night People", "Demitrius and the Gladiators", "There's No Business Like Show Business", and "Pink Tights" (described as "A spectacular musical romance of little old New York", with a very sexy image of Marilyn Monroe in a dance hall girl costume). Pink Tights was canceled because Marilyn Monroe refused to do it, both because she didn't like the subject matter, and because she would have been paid far less than Frank Sinatra! We have never auctioned any movie paper from Pink Tights, and we don't know that any was ever created, except for the ad in this campaign book, and an ad in a German campaign book, which has a different sexy reclining close up of Marilyn. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. This is a soft cover magazine. There is staining in the center of the back cover (visible in our image), that barely bleeds through to the other side (the inside back cover). There is small paper loss in the bottom left corner of the back cover. There is staining in the top right corner of the front cover, in the center of the tagline, and in the top right corner of the cover image. Some of the interior pages have some minor defects, but they are generally in pretty nice condition. The spine of the magazine is slightly "rolled", and there is tiny paper loss down the edge of the spine. The magazine has clear defects, but the vast majority of the pages are in nice condition, but unaffected by those defects. WE HAVE LOOKED THROUGH THIS MAGAZINE VERY CAREFULLY, AND WE FEEL CERTAIN IT IS 100% COMPLETE, WITH NO MISSING PAGES OR CUT OUT PORTIONS! Learn More about condition grades
