An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

The Greater Glory, the 1926 Curt Rehfeld silent World War I Home Front romantic love triangle melodrama ("Written for the screen by June Mathis - From Edith O'Shaughnessy's novel 'Viennese Medley'"; "A June Mathis Production"; this was an epic movie conceived by June Mathis, and it followed two women whose men went off to World War I, and one remained faithful, and the other had an affair, and after many trials and tribulations, both their stories have happy endings) starring Conway Tearle, Anna Q. Nilsson, "and a cast including" May Allison, Ian Keith, Jean Hersholt, and Lucy Beaumont. Note that originally, June Mathis delivered a six-hour movie that had color sequences showing the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, but the studio cut the movie down to two hours and released it that way.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster is from a remarkable group of mid-1920s inserts that has just been discovered! There are twelve of them, and we are auctioning them this week in twelve separate auctions, at the start of our listings. While the poster has never been folded, it is 84 years old, so we would not want to attempt to roll it, so it will be sent in a large flat package. This will cost more than our standard size packages, so for this poster, and the other eleven inserts we are auctioning this week, the buyer will need to pay the actual cost of shipping for this poster (and of course, if this poster is purchased with other inserts, they can all be sent together in a single flat package).

Condition: good. The poster was never folded and is somewhat fragile around the edges. It has smudges, stains, and some small paper loss down the right edge of the poster, slightly extending into the edge of the image. There are some smudges and stains in the other blank borders. But the image area has very few defects (except down the right side, and that is not all that much), and it can certainly be displayed as it is, or it can be paperbacked, and it will require very little paint restoration anywhere in the image, except in the exact areas described above.
