5a285 MARION DAVIES signed magazine page '36 on a pretty image of her from a movie magazine cover!

An Original Vintage Autographed Magazine Page (measures 8 3/4" x 12") (Learn More)

Marion Davies was an actress from the 1910s to the 1930s. Some of her movies include: Cain and Mabel, Going Hollywood, Blonde of the Follies, Janice Meredith, When Knighthood was in Flower, Little Old New York, Zander the Great, and Marianne. She is well remembered for being the longtime mistress of William Randolph Hearst, and Orson Welles largely based the Susan Alexander Kane character in Citizen Kane on her, but, unlike that character, she was actually a talented comedienne who would surely have been a success even if she had not had Hearst pushing her career! She passed away in 1961 at the age of 64.
Important Added Info: Note that this item (which is part of a July, 1936 Scrapbook magazine cover that was cut around Marion Davies' image) has been personally autographed (signed) by Marion Davies! Note that our consignor purchased a group of magazine pages and covers from an estate sale. The owner had sent them to famous stars in the 1930s, and asked them to autograph them and return them. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity.

Condition: good to very good. The magazine cover was trimmed around the image and folded twice so it could be put in an envelope and sent to Marion Davies. After it was received back, it was glued to an album page, which has darkened and has paper loss around the edges, but of course, the album page could be simply trimmed to around the edge of the cover.
