An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) One Empty Shell, the 1922 silent circus cowboy western ("with all western cast") starring Virginia Morante. This is an extremely mysterious movie! There is virtually no information about it on the internet, or about its star Virginia Morante or Milburn Morante, apparently the releasing studio. The two items we have seen from the movie (a glass slide and a 6 sheet) make it appear to be a movie about a cowboy and his beautiful girlfriend. Yet, we were able to locate two newspaper ads (one Australian), and both of them describe the movie as a story about an old circus clown who is left in a small town after his circus fires him, and a four year old orphan girl from the circus hides in his trunk, and that causes all kinds of problems including him being accused of murder, but this summary is not reflected on either the items we have seen advertised from the movie! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: As noted above, we have seen an image of a glass slide from this movie that has "Morante Producing Co." as the releasing studio, and this has "Milburn Morante" and also "Clark Cornelius Corporation". So this could be from a re-release of this movie, but if it is, it is surely an incredibly early re-release, perhaps even from the continuous first release. Also note that first release movie paper from this film is incredibly rare. We have never sold even a single movie paper item from this movie until we were consigned this poster (which is the six sheet referred to above)! Note also that this six-sheet was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap. Finally note this six-sheet poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with six-sheets folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded six-sheets need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 13" x 30", so they cost more to send than regularly folded six-sheets, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. IN THE CASE OF EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, THE SHIPPING COST WILL BE VERY HIGH, SO PLEASE DO NOT BID WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT THAT ADDED SHIPPING AMOUNT, AND INCLUDE THAT AMOUNT IN WHAT YOU BID (so if you would pay $150, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50). And those who live outside the U.S. and who do not have a U.S. address to ship to SHOULD NOT BID AT ALL ON EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, BECAUSE THEY COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO SEND OUTSIDE THE U.S. Condition: fair to good. The poster is fragile and is separating on parts of many folds, where it also has small tears and scattered paper loss. There is paper loss in the lower right, but fortunately it is solely in the solid black area (and the white border next to it). But the poster is mostly "all there", and can certainly be rescued by a talented restorer. Learn More about condition grades
