An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Large Movie Poster (31x47; measures 31" x 46 1/2" [79 x 118 cm]) (Learn More)

La Marche Glorieuse (released in English-speaking countries as "The March to Glory"), the 1954 Pierre Gaspard-Huit & William Magnin French World War II (WWII) military documentary (about French general Jean de Lattre de Tassigny) featuring Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, and narrated by Jean Davy. Note that Tassigny commanded the French First Army in World War II, which he led from Provence to the Rhine and the Danube. After his death in 1952, he was elevated to Marshal of France during his state funeral.
Artist: Boris Grinsson
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this French poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie!

Note that this poster ships in a very long tube (at least 33" long, but possibly 50" long or more). Therefore the shipping for this poster will be more than that for a poster that ships in a tube 32" or shorter, and possibly much more. Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. You can tell how long of a tube this poster needs to ship in by looking at the shorter dimension of its length and width and then adding 4" to that (so a 47" x 63" poster will need to ship in a 51" long tube).

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had darkening, creases, small tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of several folds, and some pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
