An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (25 1/4" x 39 1/2") (Learn More) A Yank in the R.A.F., the 1941 Henry King World War II (WWII) Royal Air Force romantic airplane aviation pilot military propaganda thriller ("Produced by Darryl F. Zanuck"; about a hot shot American pilot in the days just before the U.S. entered World War II, who cares only about himself, but he goes to England and meets an old girlfriend who is now in the R.A.F., and he joins in an effort to win her back, and in doing so, comes to realize why the Allies were fighting in World War II) starring Tyrone Power Jr., Betty Grable, John Sutton, Reginald Gardiner, Gladys Cooper, and Ralph Byrd NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked, but not in the usual way (which is an alternate form of restoration that is similar to linenbacking, but involves backing the poster onto Japanese rice paper). THIS poster HAS been mounted onto Japanese rice paper, but it appears that it was done so in preparation to having the poster linenbacked, but that (for unknown reasons) the owner of this poster did not have the job finished, so the poster has solely been mounted on thin Japanese rice paper. However, unlike the other similar paperbacked posters we are selling this week, this particular poster DID have restoration performed after it was backed onto the paper, but oddly, the restorer did NOT replace the missing borders. Also, because the poster is currently mounted onto a thin rice paper, it is fragile, and of course, will need to be sent rolled in a tube (but the poster is somewhat protected by the extra 1" border of rice paper on all four sides). Please do not bid on this poster unless you have read the above carefully! Condition: fair. The poster was mounted on a thin Japanese rice paper . Prior to being paperbacked, the poster had all of its borders trimmed off, and there were areas of paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny areas of paper loss scattered through the left half of the image, and some areas of surface paper loss in the letters of the title. There were some tears in the word "GRABLE" at middle right and stains and smudges scattered through the image. After it was mounted, someone performed restoration to some of the poster's many defects (but they did not do the best job, and there were some areas they left alone completely, and the restoration and defects are noticeable, even from a distance).
