An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Desperate Hours, the 1955 William Wyler crime hostage thriller ("Adapted from the novel and play by Joseph Hayes"; based on a real-life story of a family taken hostage in their own home by escaped convicts; the person whose life this was based on sued for invasion of privacy, but he was ruled a "public figure" by the Supreme Court, and this was the first such case, and now means that public figures have no ability to restrict invasion into their privacy!) starring Humphrey Bogart, Fredric March, Arthur Kennedy, Martha Scott, Dewey Martin, Gig Young, Mary Murphy, and Richard Eyer. An interesting piece of trivia is that the lawyer who defended the real life family in the Supreme Court case to try to preserve their right to privacy was Richard Nixon, later President of the United States! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good to very good. There are a few tears of 1" or less and some smudges around the edges of the poster and there are some ink pad stamps on the back that slightly bleeds through to the front in the lower half of the poster.
