An Original Vintage Theatrical 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" Movie Still (Learn More) The Great McGinty, the classic 1940 Preston Sturges political crooked politics screwball comedy starring Brian Donlevy (in the title role as Dan McGinty), Muriel Angelus, Akim Tamiroff, Allyn Joslyn, and William Demarest. Note that this movie was originally intended to be released in the U.S. with the title "Down Went McGinty", but at the last minute was changed to "The Great McGinty" (it was SO "last minute" that U.S. one-sheet posters were actually printed with "Down Went McGinty" on them, and giant snipes were glued over that area)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the still shows a great candid image of Brian Donlevy and Akim Tamiroff shooting pool on the set of this movie (between scenes). Note that Donlevy and Tamiroff are in costume, and that the printed snipe on the back identifies the movie as "Down Went McGinty", which was the working title for this movie (there were posters printed with this working title, and they were sniped over with the new title). Also note that there is information about the still printed on the back. The still measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/2", but it does not appear to be trimmed. There is a stamp on the back of the still that reads, "CREDIT WILL BE APPRECIATED PARAMOUNT PHOTO BY G.F. RICHARDSON". Condition: very good to fine. There are a very few faint emulsion scuffs scattered around the edges of the still, but they are truthfully not at all noticeable except when the still is tilted to the light.
