Date Sold 12/19/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 122 pages) (Learn More) Penelope, the 1966 Arthur Hiller New York Greenwich Village bank robbery crime comedy ("She's PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT #1"; "That's Penelope - the slick stick-up chick... And she's leading the merriest men on the hottest chase from safe to sofa."; "... The world's most beautiful bank-robber"; "Attention! Put your hands in your pockets. If you find anything missing... Penelope probably took it!"; "From the novel by E.V. Cunningham"; about the bored wife of a bank executive, who robs $60,000 from his bank!) starring Natalie Wood (in the title role as Penelope), Ian Bannen, Dick Shawn, Peter Falk, Lila Kedrova, Lou Jacobi, and Jonathan Winters. Note that Natalie Wood's character is described as being "schizophrenic", because she essentially is two people, one a bored housewife, and the other a kleptomaniac who masterminds a major robbery. Edith Head designed a "Schizophrenic Wardrobe" for Wood, so that she could more clearly portray two separate people trapped in a single body! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the revised draft from May 16, 1966 and the screenplay was written by George Wells, Tom Waldman, and Frank Waldman. Also note that there are a multitude of different colored revision pages from many different dates from between 5/16/66 and 6/3/66 (apparently this script was revised over and over, which must have driven the actors crazy!).
