An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) The Fastest Gun Alive, the 1956 Russell Rouse cowboy western ("Based upon the story 'The Last Notch' by Frank D. Gilroy"; about a man who is the fastest draw ever seen, but has to move from town to town because he keeps being challenged by people who hope they are faster than he is!; he successfully sheds his past and lives in a tiny town until a notorious outlaw tracks him down and challenges him) starring Glenn Ford (in the title role), Jeanne Crain, Broderick Crawford, Russ Tamblyn, and Joseph Sweeney NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. There were some smudges and scuffs scattered in the yellow and red background areas, and pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not address the smudges and scuffs in the background (which are not very distracting). Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
