An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Ghost Breakers, the 1940 George Marshall Havana Cuba murder mystery horror screwball comedy ("Based on a Play by Paul Dickey and Charles W. Goddard"; a wacky story of a radio broadcaster who thinks he's killed somebody, and he ends up hiding in the trunk of a woman on her way to Cuba, where she has inherited a spooky island off the coast, and that is just the beginning of this unusual blend of horror, mystery, and comedy!) starring Bob Hope, Paulette Goddard, Richard Carlson, Paul Lukas, Anthony Quinn, Willie Best, and Noble Johnson (as the zombie!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: very good. There is a triangular area of paper loss in the bottom center of the top blank area, but ony blank white paper is affected. There are staple holes in the left and right of the bottom of the blank area and two pairs of staple holes in the top of the image, one affecting the very top of the first "B" of "BOB". There is a 1" tear near the middle of the right border, extending into the background and someone put a piece of tape on the back of it. When the staple holes were removed from the top left of the image and just above the top right of the image, it caused the paper to tear and someone put a piece of tape on the back of those two areas. There is paper loss in the top and middle of the left blank border. There is uneven faint staining in the entire right border and in the right of the top blank area. There are smudges in the bottom left that extend into the left of the middle of Goddard's robe and the background to the left of it. None of the above defects are all that noticeable or distracting, and most are in the blank borders. I would think most collectors would happily display this card just as it is, and certainly, any restorer could paperback it and it would only require slight restoration in the image area.
