Note that some of these are deluxe photos and some of these are news photos that have snipes attached explaining about the image. There are two that have a secretarial signature on them, but they were NOT signed by Miss Pickford. Normally, we would auction these one at a time, but our consignor wants to have the last of his items sold, which are 16 Mary Pickford stills, so we have divided them into THIS lot of 9 vertical images (and another lot of 7 horizontal images, which is in a separate bulk lot). This is a great opportunity to acquire a number of rare images of Mary Pickford, all in one lot, and perhaps for a lower than normal price! Measurements: from 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" to 8" x 10"Mary Pickford was a Canadian actress from the 1900s to the 1930s. She was one of the top silent actresses, who specialized in playing young girl roles as an adult, and she was called "America's Sweetheart", and when she married Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. in 1920, the country rejoiced (and the country mourned when they divorced in 1936!). Some of her movies include: Little Annie Rooney (in the title role), Sparrows, My Best Girl, Coquette (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role), and Tess of the Storm Country. She passed away in 1979 at the age of 87. Note that the items are from the 1920s to the 1930s. Condition: good to very good. One of the stills has discolored unevenly and is in lesser condition.
