An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More)

Malcolm 'Big Boy' Sebastian was a child actor from the 1920s to the 1930s, and billed throughout his career simply as 'Big Boy'! He starred in a series of 28 "Big Boy" comedy shorts from Educational Pictures, made between 1925 and 1929. He was an extremely large baby, who could pass for a much older child. Obviously, this was an imitation of the super successful "Our Gang" shorts, but they never achieved the same success. It appears that in 1929, Hal Roach hired away the star of these shorts, Malcolm Sebastian, to become one of the Our Gang members, still playing "Big Boy", but he only made a single movie in 1930, "Shivering Shakespeare", for Roach. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 82. If anyone knows more about why the "Big Boy" series ended, and whether Roach hired Sebastian away, or whether he simply went to the "Our Gang" producer after the "Big Boy" series was cancelled, and why he never made anymore movies, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Important Added Info: Note that this still is identified as being from "Big Boy", but it shows a small boy laying on the floor with a stuffed teddy bear. We don't know who the boy is, or if he appears in the 1930 movie "Big Boy", but we can't find any reference to any other movie by this name, and the still is clearly from the 1920s or 1930s. If anyone knows more about this still, or who the actor is, or what version of "Big Boy" it is from, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good to fine.
