An Original Vintage Folded World War II Poster (measures 28" x 39" [71 x 99 cm]) (Learn More)

The Army Needs Lumber for Trucks, the 1943 U.S. World War II Home Front poster ("The Yanks are there!") encouraging citizens to conserve lumber for use by the U.S. Army (the trucks they used at that time still had wooden parts to them!) Note that this poster features Felix Schmidt art of a soldier on a motorcycle with military trucks in the background.
Artist: Felix Schmidt
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: fair. The poster has paper loss in the top right corner, but it is very fortunate that it is solely the dark purple background area which could be easily recreated by a restorer. There are also creases at the edge of the paper loss and in the right edge of the image below it (see our image). There are a few tears in the middle of the right border and the bottom of the left border and there is surface paper loss along portions of the foldlines, especially the middle vertical fold. In spite of these very significant defects, this poster (which we have never auctioned before) can absolutely be restored, and after being backed by a talented restorer it will look great!
