Date Sold 9/15/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 7 Original Undated (probably 1960s; from the first release of this movie in Switzerland) Vintage Theatrical Swiss Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 13" x 17 1/4" [33 x 44 cm]) (Learn More) Oliver the Eighth, the 1934 Lloyd French romantic screwball murder comedy short (a wacky parody of Henry VIII, with Stan and Ollie courting a rich widow, and she agrees to marry Ollie, but her butler tells them that she is crazy and she keeps marrying men named Oliver, and then killing them, and that Ollie will be her eighth victim!) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Mae Busch, and Jack Barty. Note that, consciously or unconsciously, the rock 'n' roll group Herman's Hermits "stole" the plot of this film for their hit song "I'm Henry the Eighth I Am"! Important Added Info: Note that these Swiss lobby cards were created by the distributor by creating a set of identical stiff board printed backings, with a blank space for a still, and then they would attach a number of stills to a number of different boards, thus creating a set of Swiss lobby cards. Note that the board has metal grommets inserted into each corner, to make displaying of this Swiss lobby card far easier. Also note that these Swiss lobby cards measure 13" x 17 1/4" [33 x 44 cm].
