An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Al Christie was a Canadian-born director, producer and screenwriter from the 1900s to the 1950s. He began his career working for Centaur Film Company, and in 1910, Christie began turning out one single-reel, Mutt and Jeff comedy every week. The following year, he moved to Southern California to manage Centaur's West Coast unit, the Nestor Film Company. In 1916, Christie created a partnership with his brother Charles to form Christie Film Company which lasted until 1933. He passed away in 1951 at the age of 69. AND William Beaudine was a director, producer and writer from the 1910s to the 1970s. He worked on hundreds of films and TV shows, and some of them include: The Birth of a Nation, Mom and Dad, Duke of the Navy, The Ape Man, and Billy the Kid Versus Dracula. He passed away in 1970 at the age of 78. AND Vera Steadman was an actress from the 1910s to the 1940s. She was a Sennett Bathing Beauty and worked on many films produced by Al Christie. Some of her movies include: The Nervous Wreck, Stop Flirting, Elmer and Elsie, and Ring Around the Moon. She passed away in 1966 at the age of 66.
Important Added Info:

UPDATED 01/18/2019: Note that Mack Sennett is mentioned on the back of this still. However, a knowledgeable collector pointed out that he is not actually shown. Another knowledgeable collector identified the center man as Al Christie (with a wig!), the woman to his left as Vera Steadman, and the man in back as William Beaudine! Yet another knowledgeable collector tells us that this is likely a late 1920s gag photo used for publicity (based on Christie's hairpiece, bathing suits of an earlier era, megaphone, etc).
