2 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More)

Sepia Cinderella, the 1947 Arthur H. Leonard black cast African American musical romantic melodrama starring Sheila Guyse, Billy Daniels (billed as "Billy Daniel"), Hilda Offley, Tondaleyo, Rubile Blakey, Jack Carter, Freddie Bartholomew (as himself), and Sidney Poitier (uncredited as a night club extra; in his very first movie role!). Note that Freddie Bartholomew had been an incredibly popular child actor in the 1930s, and he was the 2nd highest paid child star of the decade (after Shirley Temple). But age took its toll on his career and in 1942 at the age of 18, he joined the Air Force. When he got out, he found his career was basically over, He bizarrely made a cameo in this all-black movie, and then had one more film appearance in 1952 before retiring from the screen and becoming a TV producer and director. And all the money he made was squandered by his parents and other relatives!
