An Original Vintage Folded Belgian World War II Poster (measures 31 3/4" x 44 1/2" [81 x 113 cm]) (Learn More)

Monstre, Tu Nous Fais Souffrir (literally translates to "Monster, You Make Us Suffer"), the 1940s Belgian World War II (WWII) poster (printed in Nazi controlled Belgium) featuring Garvens art of a smiling Winston Churchill standing over a starving woman and her children. The Nazis were trying to promote the idea that England was causing starvation among innocent civilians and they produced posters like these in countries they occupied to reinforce that idea. Note that the Hoover Archives at Stanford University has a copy with a note glued onto the poster from the Administration Communale de Habay-le-Neuve, indicating that the local Belgian administration refused German orders to use this poster in public.

Artist: Garvens
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good to fine. The poster has pretty minor fold and border wear, but has likely survived in about as good condition as one can hope, given its large size and its age.
