An Original Vintage English Movie Trade Ad (measures 8 1/2" x 11 1/4" [22 x 29 cm]; 1 page) (Learn More)

Among the Head Hunters, the 1956 Armand Denis & Michaela Denis ("famous husband and wife world travelers and film makers") English New Guinea documentary ("Breathtaking Adventures Among the Savages!") narrated by E.V.H. Emmett. Note that Armand Denis had explored Africa and India in the 1930s with his wife Leila Roosevelt, and had produced and directed many short subjects with footage of their travels that he and his wife had shot themselves. In 1948, the 52 year-old Armand Denis divorced Roosevelt, and married 34 year-old Michaela Holdsworth, and together they made four movies (very similar to those he had made with his first wife). Note that this is one of the four movies Armand Denis made with his second wife, and items from it are incredibly rare (the only item we have ever seen from it is the English pressbook and an English trade ad, each of which has a wonderful image of the aging Denis and his youthful wife).
Important Added Info: Note that this is a great one-page trade ad taken out of a Kinematograph Weekly English trade magazine (we have a number of them in this set of auctions, and also two-page English trade ads). Studios would run these elaborate ads in issues of this magazine, and they often had images not found on any of the regular movie posters (either English or U.S.). This 1-page trade ad was removed from a 1956 issue of this magazine, and it will look incredible displayed on the new owner's wall. The back of this page has text or an ad for other movies from that time, and we have not pictured that back page because the primary interest to bidders is this great color ad (see our image)! Also note that this is a "country of origin" item for this English movie!

Condition: very good. The ad was removed from a magazine (see above).
