Date Sold 6/11/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 3 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Cat's Paw (The Cat's-Paw), the 1934 Sam Taylor political crime comedy ("From the Saturday Evening Post story by Clarence Budington Kelland"; "Everything new but these [glasses]"; Lloyd is a missionary's son who returns from many years in China to his home town in California, and local crooked politicians set him up as an "in name only" Mayor, but he takes the job seriously and tries to reform the town; when they frame him with fake evidence of wrongdoings, he uses an ancient Chinese method, and puts all the crooks in a cellar, and tells them he will execute them all if they don't confess, and then he uses a Chinese illusion to "behead" two of them, whereupon they all confess; certainly, a very unusual comedy!) starring Harold Lloyd, Una Merkel, George Barbier, Nat Pendleton, Grace Bradley, Alan Dinehart and Grant Mitchell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is the first time we have auctioned ANY lobby cards for this movie in all of our years of auctioning! Condition: good to very good. Each has pinholes around the edges and/or light scuff marks and smudges, typical of vintage lobby cards that were likely displayed at a theater. The cards pictured at left have been removed from a mat and have some paper remnants on back of each corner and the other card has a small tear at right in Merkel's bathing suit (see our image).
