A 1936 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) A Connecticut Yankee by Mark Twain, the 1931 David Butler fantasy time travel comedy spoof ("By Mark Twain"; about a small town man who meets an inventor who thinks he can contact King Arthur by radio; after the typical "bump on the head", Rogers wakes up in the real life Camelot, and has many adventures before returning to the present day; as in "The Wizard of Oz", the Camelot characters and the present day characters are played by the same actors) starring Will Rogers, Maureen O'Sullivan (in her fifth movie, and she is second billed!), Myrna Loy, Frank Albertson, William Farnum (as King Arthur/Inventor), and Brandon Hurst (as Merlin/Doctor) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that Will Rogers was the foremost movie star for Fox Pictures in the early 1930s, and was at the height of his career when he was killed in a plane crash in 1935. Fox had just merged with Twentieth Century Pictures to form 20th Century Fox (Rogers had made one movie for the combined company), and immediately after his death, and for the year after, 20th Century Fox re-issued all of his sound movies. This half-sheet is from the 1936 re-release of Rogers' 1931 "A Connecticut Yankee". Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has darkened and it has pinholes, tears, and paper loss in the blank borders, with staple holes in the middle left yellow and black background areas. The poster is slightly fragile. It could either be displayed just as it is (matting out the border defects) or certainly, it would be a relatively easy restoration. After paperbacking, it would look incredible, and it would have next-to-no paint restoration anywhere in the image. Learn More about condition grades
