An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 15" x 40" [38 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) The Sky Skidder, the 1929 Bruce M. Mitchell silent airplane aviation pilot flying action romantic love triangle melodrama (a wacky but fun story of a man who invents a new airplane fuel that gets 1,000 miles to the pint, and his arch enemy steals his formula and tries to steal his girl as well, but after several exciting chases, one with a plane and an automobile, and one with two planes, the inventor recovers both his formula and his girl) starring Al Wilson ("Dare-devil aviator"), Helen Foster, Wilbur McGaugh, and Gilbert Holmes. Note that Al Wilson was a stunt pilot who became a producer and actor in a number of movies between 1923 and 1932 (including performing some stunts in Hell's Angels in 1930), when he sadly died performing airplane stunts at an air show. He was only 36. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1929 movie posters from this early airplane movie are incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single first release U.S. poster or lobby card from this movie before receiving this Australian daybill! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. There is tiny paper loss in the second "D" of "SKIDDER" in the title. There are faint water stains scattered down the right of the poster, with creases and a few tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss in the right and bottom blank borders, with minor wear on the folds.
