Date Sold 8/22/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) Reb Russell was a cowboy western actor from 1932 to 1935. Reb Russell had been an All-American running back and fullback in football for both Nebraska and Northwestern, and when he graduated in 1930, he received a few small parts at Fox Films, but did not show much promise, but in 1934, he signed a contract with Willis Kent, an independent producer, and he starred in nine low budget westerns in 1934 and 1935. But he was not the best actor, and the movies were very low budget, and he left Hollywood to tour with circuses for the rest of the 1930s, and then he retired back to Coffeyville, Kansas, where he had grown up, and he raised a family and bred livestock, passing away in 1978! Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Reb Russell on the back! Our consignor had contacted him about doing a magazine feature on Russell, and Russell replied sending this image of him standing next to Yakima Canutt, and wrote a letter to our consignor on the back explaining that he could provide stills on dozens of old time western stars, and he signed it "R.R." The front of the still is not autographed, and it is only initialed on the back, not signed. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
