Date Sold 6/26/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 7 1980s REPRODUCTION color 8x10 stills from Conquest of Space, the 1955 Byron Haskin science fiction (sci-fi) outer space astronaut thriller (produced by George Pal; "Based on the book by Chesley Bonestell and Willy Ley", who were both highly acclaimed science fiction/science fact writers; "See how it will happen .in your lifetime!"; the writers were very correct that it would happen in "your" lifetime; they correctly predicted a space station, and they were off on the timing of a manned Mars expedition, but that is likely coming soon, and there was a movie recently made about that, called "The Martian"!) starring Walter Brooke, Eric Fleming, Mickey Shaughnessy, Phil Foster, William Redfield, William Hopper, Benson Fong, Ross Martin, and Joan Shawlee. Note that these come from a man who collected 1950s and 1960s horror/sci-fi for many decades (at least since the 1980s). He knew that there were some stills (especially great candid ones) that were SO scarce that he might never acquire them, so on those, he would purchase high quality 8" x 10" reproductions (we believe he acquired those in the 1980s). We are auctioning a large number of his repro horror/sci-fi stills (including many candid images) in many bulk lots in this set of auctions. This is a rare opportunity to acquire nice reproductions of extremely scarce stills (including fantastic candid images we have never seen before)! Condition: very good to fine.
