An Original Vintage 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm] News Photo (Learn More) Harpo Marx (born Adolph Marx) was an actor from the 1920s to the 1960s. He is best remembered as the Marx Brothers lovable mute (he never spoke in any of the movies!) and for his curly red hair, top hat, and horn. He acquired his nickname because he was an expert harpist, which he would play in many of his movies. Some of his movies include: Duck Soup, A Night at the Opera, Horse Feathers, A Day at the Races, Animal Crackers, and Monkey Business. Harpo passed away in 1964 at the age of 75. Important Added Info: Note that this photo was a production still taken in anticipation of Harpo's January 3rd, 1958 appearance on the top-rated Edward R. Murrow show "Person-to-Person". Ultimately Harpo didn't talk during the broadcast but stayed in character, and had the usually staid Murrow in hysterics during most of the broadcast. His wife translated Harp's answers to the questions. Note that this news photo measures 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm]. Condition: very good. The photo is lightly rippled, caused by the snipe glued to the back. Otherwise, the news photo is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
