He is 3,000,000 light years from home."; "Written by Melissa Mathison"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Dee Wallace, Peter Coyote, Henry Thomas ("as Elliott"), Drew Barrymore (in her second movie role!), and Robert MacNaughton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never seen this unusual poster before. It is a commercial poster that has "Produced by West Gate Inc. Agent STIK INTERNATIONAL INC." printed in the bottom right corner. Everything on the poster is in English, but it does not measure the size of any U.S. poster. It measures similar in size to a German A1 poster, but it was consigned to us from Japan! So it is really difficult to know where it is from. We contacted a Japanese poster expert who told us that the movie was big in Japan in 1982 and 1983 only, and that he does not think it was re-released there in the 1980s. We researched the company "Stik", and found that they made Japanese commercial movie items in the early 1980s, and the IMDb lists them as a production company on a couple of Japanese films from 1983 and 1984, so based on that and what our Japanese expert told us, we think this is almost surely a rare commercial poster from 1982 or 1983, and that it was distributed in Japan (and perhaps many other countries), but why we have never seen it before, we don't know. It is printed on a quality paper with a textured paper stock, which is not the way cheap reproductions would have been made. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the uncertainties as to its date and its origin.
