An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 125 pages) (Learn More) The Couch Trip, the 1987 Michael Ritchie psychiatrist mistaken identity radio talk show screwball comedy ("A comedy of truly loony proportions."; "Based on a novel by Ken Klob") starring Dan Aykroyd, Charles Grodin, Donna Dixon, Richard Romanus, David Clennon, Arye Gross, and Walter Matthau ("as 'Becker'") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the revised blue draft from March 10, 1987 and the screenplay was written by Steve Kampmann, Will Porter, Walter Bernstein, and Jerry Belson. It was consigned to us by Charles Shyer (see below). He wrote a very early version of this script, but it was not used, and he did not receive screen credit. However, Jerry Belson worked on this revised draft, and he did receive screen credit (partly as the result of efforts by Mr. Shyer, and included with the script is a letter and a 3-page document from the producer of The Couch Trip, indicating who would receive screen credit). Mr. Shyer was very close friends with Jerry Belson, and Mr. Belson would give Mr. Shyer examples of his scripts in order to get his feedback on them (sometimes Mr. Shyer would tell him his opinion, and sometimes he would make notes on the scripts themselves). Note that this script was consigned to us directly from director/screenwriter Charles Shyer. Mr. Shyer is the director of many extremely popular movies from the 1970s to the present, many of which are romantic comedies, including House Calls, Private Benjamin, Baby Boom, remakes of Father of the Bride and The Parent Trap, and many others. Over the years, he collected scripts, which he received primarily in two different ways. He was friends with screenwriters, directors, and producers during those years, and they would sometimes send him scripts of their movies to get his opinion of them, and many of those are offered here. This is a rare opportunity to purchase original scripts that come directly from the personal collection of a prominent director/screenwriter! Also note that there are blue and white revision pages from 3/9/87. Condition: very good to fine. See our multiple images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this script.
