eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 6a0016 MRS. WIGGS OF THE CABBAGE PATCH test jumbo WC 1934 art of W.C. Fields & shocked Zasu Pitts! Date Sold 10/4/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Jumbo Movie Window Card (WC; measures 22 1/4" x 27 3/4" [57 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch, the 1934 Norman Taurog family relationship screwball comedy ("From the play by Alice Hegan Rice and Anne Crawford Flexner"; about a down-on-their-luck family, where the father has deserted them, and everything is going wrong, and at the end, the absent father appears with enough money to save the day) starring Pauline Lord (in the title role as Mrs. Wiggs), W.C. Fields, Zasu Pitts, Evelyn Venable, Kent Taylor, Charles Middleton, and Virginia Weidler. Note that W.C. Fields plays a neighbor who courts a friend of Mrs. Wiggs, but because he was a big star, he got high billing in this movie that received favorable reviews! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that in the past we have seen some "test" one-sheets from the 1930s, where they only had a single color, or two colors in the printing. Often these were part of a group of "progressive proofs", usually one for each color. It would seem that this jumbo window card is something similar, but we have never seen anything like it and we are solely guessing. It is surely original from 1934, but the exact answer to why it was created is lost in the sands of time. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this poster can't be folded or rolled and must be sent in a large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30". Please bear this added expense in mind before bidding on this poster. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. IN THE CASE OF EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, THE SHIPPING COST WILL BE VERY HIGH, SO PLEASE DO NOT BID WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT THAT ADDED SHIPPING AMOUNT, AND INCLUDE THAT AMOUNT IN WHAT YOU BID (so if you would pay $150, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50). And those who live outside the U.S. and who do not have a U.S. address to ship to SHOULD NOT BID AT ALL ON EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, BECAUSE THEY COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO SEND OUTSIDE THE U.S. Condition: fair to good. There are water stains and smudges scattered around the edges with some smudges scattered through the poster. Learn More about condition grades
