A Vintage French Softcover Book (measures 6 3/4" x 10 1/2" [17 x 27 cm]; 400 pages) (Learn More) Etrennes 1939, the 1939 French catalog created by the Bibliographie de la France (Bibliography of France) which features information (such as author, publisher, price, etc) about books, charts & periodicals. Bibliographie de la France was founded in 1811 by Adrien-Jean-Quentin Beuchot and was published from 1856 to 1989 by the Cercle de la Librairie (a French book industry union). The Bibliotheque Nationale de France (National Library of France) took over the publication in 1990 and since the early 2000s, only digital editions were created. Subjects mentioned in the 1939 catalogue include: Snow White, Mickey Mouse (and other Walt Disney characters), Felix the Cat, Babar the elephant, Tarzan, Robinson Crusoe, Napoleon, and many more! Important Added Info: Note that, as mentioned above, this is a catalog listing books published in France in 1939. It has a lot of really interesting ads and illustrations inside, but what is most fascinating is a 20-page bound-in section entitled "Etrennes Hachette 1939", which has both full-color and one-color pages on quality paper stock, and the cover has a great image of Snow White with forest animals, and inside are many images of other Walt Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Pluto, and more, and there are also images of Felix the Cat, Tarzan, and more (most of which are in color; see our images). Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Condition: good to very good. There is small paper loss in the top of the cover, with the remnants of a sticker and a 1 1/2" tear at the bottom of the cover. Otherwise, the book is in pretty nice condition (see our images).
