eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7c317 TEX RITTER signed 8x10 REPRO still '60 smiling big at his horse White Flash! Date Sold 11/14/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) Tex Ritter was a well known actor in cowboy movies from 1936 through 1973, and a major radio star, and one of the first successful country western singers. Some of his movies include: The First Bad Man, Wichita, Song of the Gringo, and many more! He achieved great fame from singing the theme song from "High Noon", and for being the father of John Ritter, the famous TV star. He passed away in 1974 at the age of 68. Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by Tex Ritter (there is also a facsimile autograph within the image)! Note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! About the Collection this Item Comes From Note that this item (and 3 others we are auctioning this week, each in its own auction) was consigned to us by a man who was a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1960s on. During that time, he would regularly attend collectibles shows as a dealer, and while he was at those shows, he would sometimes purchase autographed movie items from other exhibitors at those shows. He would also have items autographed by celebrity guests at those shows. Now, decades later, the dealer has consigned these autographed items to us. So all of these 4 autographed items we are auctioning were either obtained in person by this memorabilia dealer at collectible shows, or were purchased from dealers selling autographed items at collectible shows, and we feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic! Note that each of the 4 items from this consignor all have this paragraph on them. Condition: good. There are many creases scattered through the still and someone wrote their name in the bottom border. There is surface paper loss in the edge of each corner where tape was removed.
