Date Sold 1/21/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Unfolded 1970s Commercial Poster (made to be sold directly to the public; measures 23" x 35" [58 x 89 cm]) (Learn More) Star Trek is an American science fiction (sci-fi) entertainment franchise created by Gene Roddenberry in 1966, with the first Star Trek TV show. Oddly, the first pilot for it was not "picked up" by the network, but that was likely a lucky break, because star Jeffrey Hunter was then replaced with William Shatner, and the rest, as they say, is history! The franchise has spawned several television shows, over a dozen theatrical films, and many books, comics, and games. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a most unusual commercial poster, because it has crushed black velvet that is slightly three dimensional from the non-black areas. You would think this was expensive to produce, and we can't imagine many of these have survived. Condition: very good. The poster has never been folded and it is in pretty nice condition!
