Date Sold 10/25/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Elizabeth Taylor was one of the most legendary actresses of all time! She started as a child actress in the 1940s, became a teen actress in the 1950s, and became a major star from the 1960s to the 1990s. Some of her movies include: Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), North and South, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), A Place in the Sun, Giant, Jane Eyre, Father of the Bride, National Velvet, Suddenly, Last Summer (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Raintree County (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Butterfield 8 (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and the "Lassie" films. Some consider her the most beautiful brunette actress of all time! She passed away in 2011 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this still (which is an original still from "Suddenly Last Summer" from 1959) has been autographed (signed) by a secretary for Elizabeth Taylor in 1981 (it was when she was married to John Warner, and the secretary signed the name "Elizabeth Taylor Warner")! Our consignor was in Ms. Taylor's fan club, and he received this SECRETARIAL signed photo. Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm].
UPDATED 10/21/2015: Note that this still has been signed by a secretary for Elizabeth Taylor, and NOT by Elizabeth Taylor herself as we initially listed. We have updated the auction accordingly. Condition: good to very good. An extremely tiny amount was trimmed from the top and right blank borders of the still. Someone stamped the back of the still with a stamp stating "FROM THE COLLECTION OF" and their name, and they also put the date the autograph was acquired (8/6/81) under that on the back. Unfortunately, the stamp bled through to the front in the sky background to the top right of Miss Taylor's head, and the collector put "white-out" over that area, and over their name on the back of the still (certainly, this could be fairly easily restored, and it is not all that distracting).
