What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss on parts of some folds, with tape stains in the top and bottom, and paper loss in the top left of the poster, affecting the top of two letters. It had a long uneven tear in the top center, extending into the background below the garland. It had a diagonal tear in the middle right. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
