An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Paper Banner (measures 24" x 60" [61 x 152 cm]) (Learn More) The Silencers, the 1966 Phil Karlson spy espionage action comedy spoof ("Matt Helm shoots the works!"; "The Slaygirls will slay you!"; "They've got what it takes to 'get' Matt Helm"; "Based on novels by Donald Hamilton") starring Dean Martin ("as Matt Helm"), Stella Stevens, Daliah Lavi, Victor Buono, Arthur O'Connell, Robert Webber, James Gregory, Roger C. Carmel, Beverly Adams ("as Lovey Kravezit"), Cyd Charisse, and "featuring The Slaygirls" Mary Mangler, Margie Nelson, Marilyn Tindall, Jan Watson, Barbara Burgess, and Margaret Teele. Note that this is the first film to feature a post-credits scene! Also, note that this movie was produced by Irving Allen. Allen and Cubby Broccoli had produced a long string of movies together, but then they split apart when Broccoli proposed that they produce the James Bond series of movies, which Allen did not want to produce, because he did not think that they were even good enough for television! A few years later, Allen tried to make up for his massive blunder by producing this series of Matt Helm movies starring Dean Martin, but the only way he could get Martin to star in this first one was to make him a partner, which meant that Martin made more money from The Silencers in 1966 than Sean Connery made on Thunderball the previous year, and Connery was not happy about that at all! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this item can be shipped in a standard size tube. However, the poster itself is extremely long, so it can't be combined with other rolled posters, which is why it is in this set of auctions of "very oversized" items. Also note that this is a paper banner that can be combined solely with other paper banners, but NOT with any other rolled posters in this set of auctions, because they would get damaged by being combined. Condition: good to very good. The banner has a few creases, smudges and scuff marks scattered in various areas (typical of paper banners of this time period) and there are a few tiny dot stains in portions of the edges.
