A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 9 1/2" x 10 1/2" [24 x 27 cm]; 200 pages) (Learn More) This Was Burlesque, the 1962 - 1986 off-Broadway musical stage play dance production (of the work by Ann Corio, Sonny Lester and Bill Grundy). Note that this show was based on the career of Ann Corio, a burlesque star and actress Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by FOURTEEN people: Ann Corio, Scott Carpenter, Michael P. Iannucci, Gloria de Ray, Jerry Lester, Dick Bernie, Bobleye Mack, Edie & Harry, Dick Richards, Lorraine Lee, Claude Mathis, Tom Dillon, AND Dexter Maitland! Note that all of the autographs are "To Mary", and they talk about how important she is to "This Was Burlesque", and we don't know who "Mary" is, but these surely were obtained in person by her. It is interesting to note that one of the autographs is Scott Carpenter, who we would think is the astronaut, because "Mary" had him sign the book as well, and on the title page. She added "written outside Ann Corio's dressing room at Shady Grove, Maryland, October 10, 1970", so we guess he was there visiting and she asked him to sign the book as well (which also indicates that all of the signatures were likely acquired in 1970, even though the book was published in 1968). Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signatures to likely be authentic. Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note: We have 15 images of the books in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 15 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 5. Condition: good to very good. The dust jacket has a number of tears around the edges, including on the cover of the jacket, but the book itself is in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
