An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, the classic 1938 Edwin L. Marin family holiday fantasy melodrama ("It's greater than 'David Copperfield'"; from the classic novel by Charles Dickens) starring Reginald Owen (as Ebenezer Scrooge), Gene Lockhart (as Bob Cratchit), Leo G. Carroll (as Marley's ghost), Kathleen Lockhart, Terry Kilburn (as Tiny Tim), Barry MacKay, Lynne Carver, Matthew Boulton, and Charles Coleman. Note that this is one of many movie versions of Charles Dickens' novel, and there are a number of people who feel this was the best one ever!

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this first release insert, and all first release posters from this movie are extremely rare. In the past 18 years, we have only auctioned a single window card and a single one-sheet!

Note that this poster could conceivably be rolled in a tube, but because it has some tape on the back of two folds, and it would lessen its condition by folding it, we intend to send it in a large flat package, and will only send it rolled or folded if the new owner accepts responsibility if it is damaged from being rolled or folded. Please bear this in mind before placing your bid on this rare poster.

Condition: good to very good. There was separation in the top and bottom folds and someone put tape on the back of both of those folds and on the back of the left and right of the middle fold. They performed slight touch up to the front of the top and bottom folds. There is also staining in the upper right blank border and some faint staining in the lower right blank border. In spite of the above, this incredibly rare poster can certainly be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or one might choose to have restoration performed.
