Date Sold 11/30/2014 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 3 Steve Ditko comic books published by Bruce Hershenson. Note that Bruce Hershenson was a major comic book dealer in the 1960s, and in the early 1970s he began publishing "fanzines". He met Steve Ditko (creator of Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, and many other characters), and proposed that he publish Ditko's non-mainstream comics, not in fanzines, but in comic books that looked like regular comic books, and Ditko agreed, and the partnership resulted in these three comics, Avenging World, Wha.!?, and Mr. A #2. After that, Bruce Hershenson began publishing E.C. reprints with Ron Barlow through East Coast Comics, and he ceased publishing Ditko comics. Note that the items in this lot are from the 1970s. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them. Note that these comics were purchased by our consignor directly from Bruce Hershenson in the early 1970s, and he kept them in excellent condition all these years, until he has consigned them now!
