Date Sold 12/23/2014Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Photolobby (11x14; LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Drums Along the Mohawk, the 1939 John Ford pre-Revolutionary War Native American Indian romantic pioneer adventure thriller ("Thrilling! Stirring! Spectacular!"; "Based upon the novel by Walter D. Edmonds"; William Faulkner made uncredited contributions to the screenplay; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck; about a couple living in pre-Revolutionary War upstate New York, and how they must adjust to the difficulties of pioneer life, especially the wife, who grew up wealthy and in a big city) starring Claudette Colbert, Henry Fonda, Edna May Oliver (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Eddie Collins, Dorris Bowdon, John Carradine, Jessie Ralph, Arthur Shields, Robert Lowery, Roger Imhof, Francis Ford, and Ward Bond NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that on this movie, 20th Century Fox solely issued a "photolobby" set with glossier color scenes from the movie (there were NO "regular" lobby cards made). We have no idea why 20th Century-Fox did this, but it seems to be something they experimented with in 1939 on certain movies. This is not to be confused with the "color-glos" color photolobbies they issued around this time (on those titles, there was both a color-glos set AND a "regular" set). Condition: good. There is surface paper loss in the top of the right blank border. There are two pinholes in the upper left blank border and some creases in the lower left corner. There is a large water stain on the back of the upper right, which likely caused the surface paper loss in the right border, but otherwise does not affect the card. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
