Important Added Info: This was printed by Associated Displays Corporation which was a company based in New York City. Before it was discovered by noted poster dealer/historian Walter Reuben, collectors did not know the name of this company (and thought it to be located in the Midwest), and it is often referred to as the "other company" (and we will continue to refer to it that way, since collectors know it that way). From 1936 to roughly 1941, this company printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts, half-sheets, three-sheets, 40x60s and stills) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The items almost always feature a tiny legal disclaimer and cast credits only. The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They did this by combining elements from different film scenes onto one poster or card. Sometimes, "other company" posters have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters. Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by Frances Dee! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed lobby cards that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahoney Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him). In the past, we have auctioned many signed stills from Mr. Sorgi's amazing collection, and just a few lobby cards, but in this set of auctions, we are auctioning 156 signed lobby cards, all at one time (we are also auctioning some more signed stills from the same collection)! Our consignor (and we) feel certain that the autograph on this card is authentic! This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase many great signed lobby cards.
