Note that this movie was first announced by Republic Pictures in 1950, starring John Wayne, but for various reasons, the movie was never made at that time. Finally, Wayne was able to get it made (with himself as the director) a full decade later! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this British quad advertises (in large letters under the title) that the movie is "in TODD-AO". The very first U.S. one-sheets had the same promotion, but they were quickly replaced by one-sheets without that notation. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, scuffs, and smudges along parts of the folds. It had punch holes, pinholes, stains, and paper loss around the edges. It had an 8" horizontal tear in the upper right of the first "A" of the title, extending into the image to the right of it. It had smudges and tiny stains scattered in the letters. It had paper loss in the bottom of the "LA" of the title. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Given the poster's many defects, the restorer did a pretty good job making it presentable, but they did minimal restoration to many areas, and the defects are still quite noticeable.
