Date Sold 10/11/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Spitting in this theatre is forbidden by the board of health, the circa 1920s slide. Note that this was in the days when many men chewed tobacco, and spittoons were found in every public gathering place, but many believed that it caused the spread of disease, and chewing (and spitting) was forbidden in many movie theaters! This was a "helpful instruction" glass slide that was shown along with coming attraction glass slides between movies at a 1920s movie theater (we have seen these in movie scenes showing old time theaters, but it is likely that very few of these survive). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine. The slide is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
