eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 6z001 RAMONES postcard '77 cool early image of the greatest punk rock band ever! Date Sold 11/7/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Postcard (measures 5" x 6 3/4") (Learn More) Ramones, who were a punk rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) band from 1974 to 1996. All of the band members (Johnny, Joey, and Tommy) adopted pseudonyms ending with the surname "Ramone", although none of them were related. They are often cited as the first punk rock group and despite achieving only limited commercial success, the band was a major influence on the punk rock movement in both the United States and the United Kingdom. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. Note that The Ramones were HUGE fans of E.C. horror comics of the 1950s! Important Added Info: UPDATED 11/02/2010: Note that early promotional postcards like the one offered here are hard to find given that many would have been discarded over the years. Additionally, considering this is such an early Ramones piece, the record label may not have put much backing behind the band which means there were probably not that many of these postcards made to begin with. Therefore, it is quite likely that few of these survive from 33 years ago! Condition: good to very good. There is light rippling and creasing throughout the postcard and there are some smudges scattered throughout (mostly around the edges). There are tiny brown stains at upper left on the front of the postcard, but they are not too noticeable or distracting! Note that the postcard was printed with a blank border on the left, right, and top edges, but it does not have a blank border at bottom and does not appear to have ever been trimmed!
