An Original Vintage Linenbacked Theatrical Stage Show Poster (measures 23" x 31 3/4" [58 x 81 cm]) (Learn More)

Ghost Show, the circa 1930s horror theatrical stage show ("Spooks! Spooks! On Our stage!"; "Dr. Ross and his company of spirit mediums present his internationally famous ghost show"; "An hour of weird and eerie entertainment"; "You'll meet vampires, ghosts and spirits face to face!"; "If you have a weak heart don't come!"). Note that this was a poster for a live stage show that greatly resembled the "spook shows" of the 1930s to 1950s, where local theaters would have "live" acts on stage, along with showings of actual horror movies. This is different, because it is for a specific show by someone named "Dr. Ross", who apparently was a magician named Faucett Ross in the 1930s who used to perform Spook Shows and work in carnivals during the 1930s and 1940s. We found this information about this poster on the Internet, and it identifies the poster as being from the early 1930s, which is possible, but it is also possible it is from later than that (even perhaps the 1950s or 1960s). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some creases scattered in the "HOS" of "GHOST" and a few tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
