Mulford's Secret of the Wastelands, the 1941 Derwin Abrahams action adventure cowboy western ("Based upon the story by Bliss Lomax and characters created by Clarence E. Mulford") starring William Boyd (as Hopalong Cassidy), Andy Clyde, Brad King (he played a new character 'Johnny Nelson' who replaced Jimmy Ellison's long-running character 'Lucky Nelson'), Barbara Britton, and Soo Yong NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, for unknown reasons, this is one of the scarcest of the Hopalong Cassidy titles! Perhaps it was related to when Boyd switched from Paramount to United Artists, and maybe this movie received much less distribution than earlier entries in the series. Seven years ago, we auctioned a single lobby card from this movie, but otherwise, we have never seen any other first release paper on this title until we were consigned this one-sheet! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and scuffs and some tiny tears on parts of some foldlines. There were some tack holes and some tiny tears around the edges of the poster, with a small stain in the lower right blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
