An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Purple Mask, the 1916 Grace Cunard & Francis Ford silent jewel thief detective crime mystery action serial ("The Great Universal Serial"; "Watch for it!"; about a female master jewel thief and the detective who relentlessly hunts her; clearly borrowing the basic plot of "Raffles", but with the thief being female, and she always wears a purple mask to hide her identity) starring Grace Cunard, Francis Ford, Jean Hathaway, Peter Gerald, and Jerome Ash NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: fair. All the black tape is missing. The two panes are separated. There is staining in the borders of the image. There are smudges and a scratch in the top glass pane. This can be cleaned and repaired by a professional or talented amateur, but please do not bid on this slide unless you can accept its defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
