The Trail of the Octopus, the 1919 Duke Worne Hallmark Pictures silent detective mystery crime action serial ("'Stand back!'"; "The Mysterious Adventures of a Master Criminologist"; "Ruth under the power of Wang Foo and Monsieur X."; with a stereotypical Asian villain, named "Wang Foo", and a French villain named "Monsieur X"; about a master criminologist, who must continually rescue the frequently kidnapped Ruth Stanhope to find "the 9 daggers that will unlock the secret of the cursed Devil's Trademark"!) starring Ben F. Wilson (billed as "Ben Wilson"), Neva Gerber, William Dyer, Howard Crampton, and William A. Carroll

Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 26 1/4" x 39 1/4" [67 x 100 cm]. Also note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great!

Condition: fair to good. The poster was slightly trimmed in the blank borders, either before or after it was kraftbacked (see above). It has pinholes around the edges. It has some dark brown stains scattered down the left (see our image). In spite of the above defects, it would probably not be that difficult for a restorer to remove the poster from the kraftbacking, and after proper linenbacking, it will look fantastic (and only blank white paper was lost because of the trimming in the borders).
