An Original Vintage Theatrical German Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" [19 x 23 cm]) (Learn More)

Gold, the 1934 Karl Hartl German science fiction (sci-fi) atomic energy melodrama (about two German scientists who discover how to turn lead into gold but one is murdered and the lab is destroyed, and the surviving scientist is hired by the murderer, a British industrialist who has replicated the experiment on a grand scale using a nuclear reactor) starring Hans Albers, Lien Deyers, Michael Bohen, Brigitte Helm (best remembered for her starring role in Fritz Lang's "Metropolis"), Eberhard Leirhoff, Ernst Karchow, Willy Schur, Hansjoachim Buttner, Walter Steinbeck, Heinz Wemper, and Rudolf Platte. This was a German language version of this movie, and there was also a French language version called "L'or". Universal did the same thing with "Dracula" in 1931. They filmed the movie twice, once in English, and once in Spanish, with two entirely different casts, U.S. actors for the English version and mostly Latin actors for the Spanish version, obviously for release in Spanish speaking countries, and the same was done with this movie, except it was released in German and French (the French language version starred Pierre Blanchar and Brigitte Helm). Also note that some of the footage from this movie was re-used in the 1953 B-movie, "The Magnetic Monster"!

Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" lobby card for this German movie! This lobby card has an embossed stamp in the bottom right corner, which includes the eagle and swastika, guaranteeing it is from the first release of the movie. Also note that this German lobby card has been trimmed and it now measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" [19 x 23 cm].

Condition: good to very good. The still has been neatly trimmed to 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" but is otherwise in nice condition!
