An Original Vintage Linenbacked Italian Special Movie Poster (measures 25 1/2" x 33 1/2" [65 x 85 cm]) (Learn More) Carrera Panamericana (literally translates to "Pan American Race") was a border-to-border sedan and sports car racing event on open roads in Mexico from 1950 to 1954. 27 people died during the five years of the Panamericana, giving it one of the highest mortality rates per race in the history of motor sports, primarily because racing speeds almost doubled as a result of technical improvements, but safety remained static and competitors, spectators and safety personnel alike became casualties. Artist: Carlo Vega Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had much light scuffing and uneven brown discoloration scattered throughout, but we have no example to compare it to, so we don't know if it was created this way, if some or all of it is a printing defect, or if some of all of it are defects specific to this poster.
