This German Shepherd was rescued in France at the end of World War I by U.S. Air Corporal Lee Duncan. He made his first movie in 1923, and by 1926, he was Warner Bros.' #1 star, and he made a total of 28 movies. He passed away in 1932 at the age of 13. One of his sons was quickly dubbed "Rin Tin Tin, Jr." and he starred in a number of films, but he was not the equal of his famous father. Rin Tin Tin was the most successful canine star of all time!
