An Original Vintage 1967 Special Poster (measures 16 3/4" x 20 1/2" [43 x 52 cm]) (Learn More)

Robert Fried was an artist from the 1940s to the 1970s. A child art prodigy, he was best known for his psychedelic rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music posters in the 1960s and 1970s for several bands, including Buffalo Springfield, The Grateful Dead, and Big Brother and the Holding Company. Fried passed away in 1974 at the age of 37 from a stroke.
Artist: Robert Fried
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster! This is a VERY special poster! It is not for a specific concert, but it was designed to be given to head shops to be placed in their windows (it is a transparent double-sided acetate poster that could be attached to the front or back of a window). It was one of the first such posters printed by the Berkeley Bonaparte company (we are also auctioning the very first of these posters, Grateful Dead, in a separate auction), but they made a fatal error in not first testing the poster, because it turned out that when the poster was exposed to sunlight, the ink would fade, and the entire poster would deteriorate! So very few of these survive, and most that do have significant defects.

Note that this item contains some nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have the white bars.

Also note that while this could conceivably be rolled, we will send it in a large flat package that measures 19" x 23". Please bear that extra shipping cost in mind BEFORE placing a bid on this!

Condition: very good. The poster is fragile (see above), but has survived well, considering the material it is made of.
